The new Safari extension 2.0 does not work

@whatsamonad it looks like you are still using the shelved version. I would recommend you uninstall and reinstall.

Vlad I now have the following problem:

I enter a search and the Kagi extension redirects me to Kagi.com (good)
I click on the "upside down triangle" icon to try the search on some other search engine like Google
Kagi.com now redirects me to Google.com (good)
However the Kagi extension now notices I am on Google.com and so the Kagi extension redirects me to Kagi.com (bad)

I would expect to not be redirected from "some search engine" to Kagi.com, if it was Kagi.com that redirected me to that search engine in the first place. See also the attached video.

leokennis To fix that, I set my default search engine to Ecosia and granted the extension access to only Ecosia.org and Kagi.com - that way I can still use Google if necessary. This method still seems to work with the latest update (though I haven't tested it for more than a few minutes, and I did need to manually restart Safari after the update)

leokennis The extension will attempt to redirect any searches to the search engine urls that it has permissions for. If you either granted permissions across all websites or granted permissions individually to multiple search engines, the redirects would happen when you use your search shortcut to switch to any Safari-supported engine. The extension popup can tell you which urls it has permission for (click the Extension icon in Safari's location bar, then tap Kagi for Safari icon).

Ultimately, you'll need to go to Settings App -> Safari -> Extensions -> Kagi for Safari and remove permissions for the search engines you want to prevent redirecting back to Kagi. "Other Websites" should be "Ask" (in English locales… not sure about NL locale).

I just noticed a bug on Safari on macOS: When I receive a link to Google Docs or Google Drive via Gmail and click on it, instead of just opening the link, it gets redirected to Kagi and searches for this link.

KittMedia this should be resolved in 2.2.1 which is on the App Store now. Links to google.com should only redirect to Kagi if they match the pattern "google.com/search".

I have noticed that macOS Kagi for Safari 2.2.3 does not always redirect from DuckDuckGo to Kagi. Has happened a few times when I search for esbuild from the Safari search bar and press enter. When it happens, either refreshing the page or pressing enter in the search bar make the extension redirect to Kagi search correctly. Have not been able to reproduce this consistently though.
