tschoesi Subtracting a percentage directly doesn't make a lot of sense from a maths standpoint anyways. 12 - 40% = 12 - 0.4 = 11.6 What you meant to write was 12 - (12 * 40%) or (12 * 60%) (which kagi also can't do).
Krmloo Yup, just wanted feature parity with other search engine calculators as they guess the correct intent, even if the initial expression isn't quite right.

mm00 Sometimes, when I want to calculate stuff like discounts, I'd like to have x±y% to return the appropriate percentage subtraction or addition. for example, the query 10-50% would return 5, since it's doing 10 - (50% of 10)
