When iOS Safari extension is enabled other search engines can't be used from their web pages

Steps to reproduce:
Activate iOS Safari Kagi extension
Navigate to e.g. https://duckduckgo.com (or Google, Bing, etc) in Safari
Perform a search
Browser is redirected to Kagi and search is performed there

Note: this also happens when using the !ddg bang in Kagi

Expected behavior:
Search is performed on https://duckduckgo.com and results are displayed there

System info:
iOS 15.3.1
Current version of Kagi Search for Safari extension

This is hard (impossible) to fix because of the way extension works (redirects google queries to Kagi). The reason it works this way is because Safari does not allow search extensions in the first place so this was the best hack we could come up with. A much better solution is/will be using Orion browser on iOS.

I don't know the capabilities of the iOS Safari extension API, but is it possible to inspect the request headers? If so there appears to be no referer value set when searching from the location bar.
