Similar to what ChatGPT is doing, would appreciate the ability to save an AI chat / interaction to return to in the future and either ask additional questions or provide additional information. Having an interaction you can build up with knowledge over time and continue to revisit would be fantastic.
Save AI chats for future continuation
It would be nice if the AI assistant had support for persistent conversations that can be continued later, much like the official front-ends of the underlying models. I would suggest making it available at least to Ultimate subscriptions. Without it, it's not a full replacement for a Plus subscription at OpenAI, which means that users might be less inclined to pay extra for access to advanced models.
It would enable users to continue chats where the prior context is important, without starting all over again. I imagine it being a sidebar, much like on other front-ends.

I think it would be great if we could easily access past threads/conversations with the Assistant. I often find myself wanting to continue a conversation or research topic that I started some hours/days ago, but I rarely remember to save the thread URL.
Ideally I'd like to have a list of conversations--similar to the ChatGPT sidebar, with a summary of each thread--sorted by last interaction date available in the UI. As an MVP, just having a list of links to the thread with the initial question would be useful. I would like to be able to continue the conversation from where it left off.
It would also be great to have some search functionality over this history. This would also differentiate the feature from e.g. ChatGPT which to my knowledge lacks this functionality.
Perhaps this could be integrated into a "History" pane/tab on the Assistant page, linking to the thread URL. See mock-up:
As a user I would use this feature whenever I wanted to go back to a past conversation and either
- continue the conversation of past research
- remind myself of what was discussed in past conversations
An obvious example of a UI that implements this in a straightforward manner is ChatGPT.
+1 for this feature.
+1 for this. Something actually similar to chatgpt would be amazing.
I think adding the ability (opt-in) with an easy way to wipe all history to view past assistant conversations to maybe pick back up on them down the line, even if it is a limited amount.
I can see this being useful for reference or if you have a useful thread going and perhaps close your browser session accidentally. This should be opt in of course for those who want more privacy, but this is a very useful feature in ChatGPT that I think could be nice in Kagi assistant if done in a privacy preserving way.
I would personally use this to go back to past chats and ask follow up questions or reference queries I made in the past or want more information on. This could be super useful with research mode if someone is working on a large project and needs to go back and forth over a longer period of time.
As far as I know, this will be implemented in the revamped version of Assistant. Conversations by default will not be saved, but you can save them if you want.
Not sure when the release date for this revamped assistant is, however.

It would be very useful to have a chat history list saved locally and easy to export, so at least the data isn't lost. The ability to resume an older chat from where it ended is also very nice in a context where one has spent a lot of time developing an idea and wants to return to it later when something new comes up.
