Vlad I think the approach used by Kagi on the desktop version is good, showing photos without a black box following their aspect ratio, so they can be seen easily.
Maybe on mobile, to accommodate more that a couple of photos, mainly if they are in landscape mode, a great solution could be dividing the ~ 6 photos in 2 pages accessible with an arrow or a gesture to the left, or using more lines to show them, like Google:
