It would be helpful if there were a search-credit-free playground where I could play with and learn all the things I see people talking about here in the chats instead of me having to open a search & use a credit for every cool thing I see someone talk about that I want to test out & see for myself how to use.

I would've loved this as a prospective user as well. I'm now on the unlimited plan, but it would be nice to try out all of the various Kagi features with canned example queries (maybe as a logged out user?). I was previously on the Standard plan and hesitated to explore the other features of Kagi (image and map) to avoid burning searches.

becausebirds Any ideas how would we execute this? We already have example searches on our home page for new users. Giving full access to any query is not possible due to potential of abuse and cost. What is a good middleground?

Vlad What I'm thinking is something like a demo instance of Kagi. It would have a hardcoded example query (like the MtG screenshot) and then let you click through all of the various features/functions of Kagi with that query. Basically a way to see many of the features Kagi offers without making users feel they are burning through their initial trial credits exploring the tool.

I could almost see it be a part of both the marketing site and the onboarding flow.

From my personal perspective, I never explored Kagi's Map or Image features (at all) until I upgraded to the latest non-metered unlimited tier. I had a curiosity about them, but the desire to conserve tokens caused me to never even try certain features.

NYTimes and Washington Post (both US based subscription newspapers) offer 10 gift articles per month to subscribers. While reading an article, the user clicks a gift icon which generates a unique link allowing anyone (unlimited!) to read the otherwise paywalled article.

In Kati, what if we could gift our search result to others to show how we experience Kagi. If I click the gift icon, perhaps I pick how long the link will work and can only do it X times per month. After sharing the URL with a stranger, they click the link, and they see everything as I did: AI response, pinned results, weighted results, at that moment in time. The UI is updated to show this was a moment in time.
