Fair, that's what I'm currently doing, just pasting into Chat mode. It just seemed odd to me that the Research Assistant/Universal Summarizer will only take a URL or a file upload but not simply pasted text. For longer articles, the token limit of ChatGPT frequently becomes an issue. Seems like the computational workload would be lower for me to just copy and paste text in rather than save a long article as a PDF and upload the PDF.
