Kagi is no different from any other search engine if the top results are multiple links to the same website. Please, one site per search.

The suggestion does not make sense. Say the website has 2 different articles referring to the same search. Like I search about a topic, and a website has 2 different articles with different context and views, why should I be able to only see one?? I would want to know about both the articles.

Yes, especially when it comes to stuff like arxiv or newswebsites or wikipedia, ...
One could make it a toggle "unique websites only", but that is super niche and maintaining it wouldn't be worth the effort I think, especially with more urgent features waiting out there.

so we are talking about two different behaviours . as a user I enter my search and Kagi:
1) shows me the websites that match; or
2) shows me the pages that match

I believe that the 2nd is the far more reasonable choice . this is in line with @vicky ’s comment

but I have a comment for @Vlad : your response to @matthemwoore , as an admin, I believe could use some work . when I read your ‘please show at least one example and the expected behaviour’, I immediately got vicariously incensed, as if I were matthemwoore reading it . as a user, if I encounter something I believe isn’t working properly in a product, and go out of my way to contribute by sounding my opinion, and then an admin simply pushes back with ‘at least one example’ . it just didn’t seem like you actually wanted to know more, rather like you wanted the problem to go away . perhaps a response like — if you truly needed clarification — ‘sorry, not sure I understand you, could you reword that?’ . instead of asking for some homework

PS — if I were designing a search engine, I’d have a toggle so you could see the results aggregated by website or not . no big deal . even though I think it’s far more reasonable to show the results by pages, not by sites, I suspect that there are a lot of people who would prefer to see the results by sites, not by pages

rmschindler I asked for clarification (did not push back) as I did not understand the issue (and was surprised and initially interpreted it same as Vicky and KagiForMe, which would make this a non-existatnt problem under that interpratiation). I still wanted to give it benefit of doubt, hence I asked for an example to make sure I got it right. I also used the word 'please'. That is as far as I will go I am afraid, as I have hundreds of threads to respond to every day and need to be practical with my responses.

Hi, sorry but I did not receive your original notification. To me, it didn't seem rude and totally understand not having enough time to address all concerns. I should have been more descriptive in the first place and if there aren't already posting guidelines, it may be worth considering that.

Regarding the issue itself, so much has changed now that it is likely not worth addressing. I think at the time I was feeling like all my search results were resulting in the same websites plaguing the front page regardless of their relevance. I don't understand how SEO relates to Kagi, but it has destroyed the other search engines and Kagi felt no different. I stopped using it because it did not seem worth the money - maybe that will change.

@Vlad I would just close this thread. Good luck with Kagi.

matthemwoore Thanks for confirming. One thing I noticed personally is that we would sometimes show too many results from a single domain, and I was hopening that was the case here and that you can produces some examples that we can drill into to arrive at some sort of conclusion.
