Filter out red shield websites from search results

Personalized Results is currently only for domain filtering. Would it be useful if other types of rules (eg., an ad/tracker threshold to Block or Lower sites) could be added to the function?

I would just call it "exclude red shields", and leave the definition up to you (even if at later points you decide to use different criteria for red shields). Right now you have some internal threshold, which seems fine.

And as for top 10,000 websites. I just typed in https://kagi.com/search?q=formula+1, and I see that sites like eurosport.com have 49 trackers enabled, while formula1.com itself manages just fine with 1 tracker.

I have no desire to go to sites that are just loaded up with trackers for no apparent reason.

Filtering out the red shields, you wouldn't be able to find the VMware client, so maybe the toggle for filtering out red shields needs to be fairly quickly available.

signup Yes exactly our concern. People may easilly forget they turned ths on only to find results they expect not showing up. So what is your end-to-end suggestion?

Keep the red shields, but limit them to a one-liner (see below), and instead of black use the slightly more grey color that you use for listicles and blast from the past.

Under https://kagi.com/settings?p=search add a "Order by key" or "Default Ordering" section.

Allow people to set their ordering. You won't need to do any filtering on the backend as you can already order by ads/trackers in ascending order.

Results with the least amount are at the top and you still maintain the entire search result set

Order by "ads/trackers" corresponds to &order=4 so a hacky solution would be to use Redirects under https://kagi.com/settings?p=advanced to redirect Kagi.com searches and append the query parameter &order=4.

This would incur a cost of two searches per search so that is not desirable.

Ah I see. I have done that and it fills the gap for me, for now. The only issue is you have to remember to use the custom bang. That is why I was looking for some way to set the default ordering of search results.
