Kagi.com not accessible over NordVPN

I did however find the culprit:

Maybe you need to ask Nord to whitelist you?

@danvenn I think I agree. I think it may be related to the previous owners of the kagi.com domain. cc @Vlad ?

In the meantime, it would be good to hear from at least one other Nord user that they also experience this issue.

Steps to reproduce:
Install NordVPN and connect to any server of your choice. Try to open kagi.com - the server will refuse connection close to 100% of the time.

Expected behavior:
I should be able to connect to kagi.com while using VPN.

System info:
macOS 12.1 (21C52), all browsers. Region is Switzerland.

I can make one if you need me to, but I get a feeling this will be some obvious config thing.

I reported it over chat, and they basically told me "our magic algorithm is both wise and powerful, if it blocks legitimate sites for you then disable it."

the80srobot huge bummer that they're saying this. It's pretty ridiculous.

I, too, am experiencing the same issue with NordVPN and it's quite annoying having to disconnect just to use the search functionality of kagi.

kaginewb The best would be to contact their support and request they remove kagi.com from blacklist.

Vlad I did just that. It looks like it actually works (at least on a US-Based server; admittedly, I haven't tried connecting to another country, yet).

Chat support simply requested that I clear my browser's Cache, and try it again.

They had me do a DNSLeakTest, and all passed.

Therefore, NordVPN CyberSec on + kagi.com = 😙
