FIXED - !ai bang - Query not working

When I use the !ai shortcut on Firefox to send my search query to the AI assistant, it just opens the ai assistant without my query

Same on chrome, no matter if it's in front or after the query. I think it was still working yesterday.

Edit: it DOES however work when using a bang that leads to a custom assistant, just not the default !ai one or any of the others listed here

Edit2: I don't know if it's a related problem but doing a normal websearch and then pressing 'a' also ignores the query and just opens the assistant on a new thread

So based on what you are saying it seems like kagi search is still sending the query, but kagi assistant is the one failing to handle the incoming query?

I found the issue on Discord. It seems like they have changed the domain from https://kagi.com/assistant to https://assistant.kagi.com/. They added a redirect to the new domain, which strips the search query because the !ai bang is still sending "https://kagi.com/assistant?q=%s". The bang should be updated to avoid the redirect by instead sending "https://assistant.kagi.com/?q=%s"

I found a temporary workaround ,until Kagi updates the official bang, by creating a custom bang. I have included a screenshot.

I see this on FF and Orion. Confirm sudden appearance of the problem. Worked fine until one or two days ago
