Keyboard shortcut help dialog improvements

keyboard shortcut help dialog could be made more intuitive... reducing future user support issues .

I observe/discover that it an be dismissed using another ?. This is not documented and should be. The very first item on the keyboard shortcut help screen could profitably be: "? toggle open/close this keyboard shortcut help screen"
The dialog is not modal!!! The shortcuts still work when help is displayed!!! . Especially confusing (initially) is the Esc does not dismiss it. This differs from most other such in my experience. I kind of do like it overall and even want the background to be more transparent so I can see through it more and witness the results of the keypress without having to leave the help screen. But it is quite non-standard and may confuse others even more than it did me.

To summarize:

Esc should close it
It should behave like modal (other shortcuts should not work while open)
Add '? Toggle open/close this keyboard shortcut help screen" as a first item in the list

Yes. I think this would reduce future confusion. But this comes at the cost of losing the advantage of having the help reference stay on screen as you try out the various commands. Perhaps there is a way to skin both cats. In any case, your summary is a fair decision I think.

Nicely done Vlad ! The choice to allow trying out the command with help reference on screen works quite nicely, along with the reversion to selection prior to opening the (semi) modal dialog. I might suggest that the background could be made MORE translucent (something I'm generally not in favor of, but this is a perfect case when it makes good sense, since the dialog is not truly modal).
