"Share This Result Page" probably ignores website ranking adjustments

Steps to reproduce:
Change the ranking of a website for a search that would influence the order of results.
Share the search results.
The shared page is not ordered the same.

Expected behavior:
The search results should appear in the same order to avoid confusion.

Marsup To simplify things we did this in a way that is neutral, similar to when you share a link on any search engine (results will be catered to the one seeing it, not the one sending the link).

Let us know if this is a deal rbeaker because saving 'exact' results as you see them present some difficulties (we would need to store that infinetely if we do not want to break the links).

I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker but usually when sharing such a link, it comes with a comment about the nth link, and I guess I never thought people on the receiving end would see different results.

I think it's totally understandable that results evolve with time as more data gets crawled, so I wouldn't mind if it also evolved with my personal settings, that way you would only have to keep the search linked to me and not store anything more than who shared that search.

Marsup Showing results as you may expose preferences that you do not want to be shown in the future (privacy issue; if a pinned site is something you dont want others to see for example) as well as you may not be a user in the future.

Which is why we went with the simple version like any other search engine does, show results as the person seeing is the person searching.

Vlad What about an alternative version of sharing that keeps all the customization? Including CSS, custom ranking, and URL rewrites. I think there is a lot of space there to show how Kagi can be customized.
