The 1996 theme turned off this morning and I started to cry. I'm not the only one who wishes this was a permanent option. Take a look at the reddit thread:
The type of person who uses Kagi, the ideal customer of yours, would find things like this enjoyable. Please, for the love of god, allow us to turn this on and off. Make the fun=yes a permanent option or add a subdomain like retro.kagi.com. You already have the design, just let us use it!!!
How would it extend usefulness? It would keep me from crying every morning when I sit down at my desk because I remember it's 2026 and I'm no longer paid enough to buy a car, or a house, or clothes, or food, and it's only getting worse. Seeing the 1996 theme makes me forget, if only for a moment, that I'm on a floor full of H1B's from India and China and that job security is something that no longer exists. Basically, the 1996 theme allows me to forget, if only for a moment, that I hate my life and want to die.
