Add "Demote Site" in Website ranking adjustments, not only "Block Site"

Currently there are 3 options for website ranking adjustment:

Block
Normal
Boost

I feel there should be another option in case I don't want to block a site outright but I'd like to decrease it's ranking.

For example, if I search for Javascript, CSS, HTML related things then I'd like to have the site www.w3schools.com not come up at the top because it frequently gives incomplete information. But at the same time, sometimes it has simple examples that can be useful. So in that case, I would still like to find it if I scroll down.

Maybe, the adjustment could be slider with the middle position being "Normal", the left end "Block", and the right end "Max Boost". That way it would give a simpler and more granular control over the ranking.

Yes, That's pretty much the idea I had!

The only suggestion is the phrasing, but I guess that can be worked out with testing and user feedback. For me both Block and Mute means that I would not see results from that website.

Vlad Probably, if you say so 🙂 I like the symmetry in using "higher" and "lower". Being no english native I had the idea of "boost to the top"...🙂 Regarding symmetry, the opposite of "block" should clearly imply making it the first (if not only) result. So, "top" is better, yes.

I love the idea of the extra granularity!

What about "Block-Lower-Normal-Higher-Pin"?

"Pin" feels like a better opposites for "block", since it's also a verb (whereas "top" and "first" are not).

I like the idea of a "lower" option, I'd also use it for w3schools 😅 . But what would the difference between "Pin" and "Higher" be? If I had say, Wikipedia pinned, would it put every result on the first page from Wikipedia above the rest?
