  • I'm aware this was a thing in the past, but I believe there should be an option to expand Quick Answers on "obvious" queries, like "what is taylor swift's latest album" or even more informational ones like "add a wire in ltspice," without the need for pressing q or appending a ?. This kind of change would reduce user friction when asking questions and potentially introduce the user to Quick Answers that the user may have not initially realized were useful.

Other search engines including DuckDuckGo, Google, and Bing automatically show their AI-assisted answers on questions like:

I think to minimize negative user impact, this could be an option toggleable by the user, similar to DuckDuckGo:

    • Nested bullet points (at least from Claude 3.5 Sonnet) don't render in Assistant conversations.

      Assistant view:

I expected nested bullets to render properly, as seen below when copying to clipboard and pasting:

Tested on: Firefox 133 (macOS 15.1.1) and Safari web view on iOS 18.1.1

      • GTA 6 does not exist, but Kagi pulls up information like graphical fidelity and reviews when searching for “GTA 6” even though the game’s trailer hasn’t even been released yet.

GTA 6 should not have a card talking about the game as if it already exists. News about the game’s upcoming launch should be suggested instead.

        • Vlad I mean that's fair, but I would argue the majority of people are probably looking up when certain days happen rather than what those days signify.

I've personally been looking up "valentine's day," "mother's day," etc. on Google for ages, always been disappointing when DuckDuckGo didn't show up with the date immediately and Google was the only search engine that got it right.

For what it's worth, seems like Bing surfaces the date first as well:

        • Steps to reproduce:
          Search "memorial day" on Kagi

          Expected behavior:
Expected to find upcoming date, instead find definition for memorial day

          Debug info:
Firefox Nightly 114 for Android, Android 13. US-EAST Kagi region
