When a viral news appears, it’s hard to check how true it is.
My current strategy is to wait until it appears (or not) in one or several well-established newspapers.
But when an information is viral, kagi.com/news will find a lot of news articles from less-reputable news websites, without any deep journalistic work and reliable sources.
I would like to be able to fact-check a news in a bang or dedicated tool.
In the last 10-15 years, a lot of newspapers or institutions created dedicated fact checking teams and I think it will only grow. For instance, there are currently 166 verified signatories of the IFCN code of principles https://ifcncodeofprinciples.poynter.org/signatories
Google seem to provide a fact checking tool that aggregates those https://toolbox.google.com/factcheck
I could have used the kagi lens tool, but it is only limited to 10 website, and there are way more.
