Some videos (on YouTube and other platforms) are not available in certain regions. This is especially the case for national broadcasters and their sports content. I was recently looking for some Olympic ice hockey video highlights, and the best videos to click on which had the content I was looking for — those by CBC and NBC — were/are not available in my region (the UK). It would be great to have a visual indicator when a video is unavailable or likely to be unavailable in the region a user is searching from (based on their IP or their specified region in the search query being conducted). This would be along the lines of the existing article paywall indicator that saves users the hassle of clicking on content that they would be unable to consume. It would also add to existing video search customisation options (being able to block/raise/lower video channels).
I would envision the visual indicator to be next to the video title or the three-dot menu in the video widget, and next to the shield icon in the dedicated video search interface.
