Previously in the community Discord, we talked about how cool it’d be to have Kagi Translate go further than lots of real world languages and include fictional languages/alphabets. Ideally it could mean extending out to translating symbols/runes/hieroglyphs on the fly without the need for precise conversions by symbol to letter then phonetically finding matches.
Translate already supports a few obscure examples (none that I have personally besides finding out I can decode binary text). It’d be a simple expansion to this area meaning Kagi Translate universally translates anything you show it.
If you’re like me, I find translate as it is already helpful in filling a hole in immersion where something in a video game isn’t translated for you, or at an amusement park where you’re likely seeing writing in fictional languages. It’s just a cool thing to be able to easily and quickly know what you’re reading.
The Kagi Translate app/page does a wonderful job at taking an image and scanning text to translate, so it’s just an augmentation to scan text/symbols and translate that to your preferred language. I would imagine considering how most fictional languages are - there isn’t much room for interpretation since most of them are based on being literal rather than figurative.
