You're talking about Grok right? It’s messed up for sure.

But other users want to use X. You can't just block the entirety of X because of this. Do you have a solution on how to filter out nonconsensual deepfakes? It's not like users post "nonconsensual" in their posts so Kagi could detect it at the search level.

Yes there's bad apples on X. There's bad apples on porn sites too doing far worse. Should we just ban every porn site on Kagi Search because of a few bad apples? I don't think so. Like I said X is too big to block. No other search engine that I'm aware of blocks it. Censorship isn't the way. If you want to self censor yourself from X you can do so by adding it to your blocklist like I showed you. What you have suggested sounds ridiculous unless you mean to filter it out rather than blocking it entirely, and I'm not sure how you'd do that technically.

Please note that this thread is meant to be for Phishing domains, which doesn’t apply to X.

I'm aware of the prominence of X and of methods to block domains from personalised search results.

I just wanted clarification whether one who confidently stated the course of action the company would take was a member of staff and thus asked if that was the case.

I'll take an official answer as an official answer and even if strongly stated, someone else's speculation remains, well... just speculation.

I split it off from the thread as it's not a malicious domain as the others are in that thread. Malicious domains are sites that spread scams and malware and such for example.

I'd not say that the title of this thread captures what I had in mind - though that is a possibility I'm open to of course.

All I did was report a malicious domain. What is done with it could be one of many options and these are just a few that immediately come to mind:

warn alongside links that this domain is abusive
warn alongside domain that users may find artificially created false and objectionable images of themselves at that domain
downrank the domain
block the domain
etc.

At any rate, it raises questions about a service/platform which is under active investigation right now for rather serious allegations and has been in the headlines for such things.

madhatter I definitely understand why you made this suggestion and I have gone out of my way to avoid X at all costs, even before this latest development. That said, Twitter is still unfortunately an important resource for quite a lot of people, be it live updates from their transit authority, messages from city council, travel restrictions during natural disasters (or updates otherwise). In some cases, it may be their only timely source of information.

Twitter has established itself as a go-to source for essential announcements for a lot of people and until people move away from it (it is happening) I just don't think it's reasonable to expect Kagi to block it outright.

I don't like it either.

For what it's worth, I personally have (for years) down ranked it and also set Kagi to redirect to xcancel.com.
