The Sports API display doesn't visually prioritize the score or have any colors/icons to indicate which teams are playing, and it doesn't emphasize the score from the most recent game. The tables are much more visually prominent than the bolded text, and the tables do not contain highly-relevant information and should either be visually deprioritized or hidden behind a dropdown. It makes it very hard to parse the widget at a glance.

The Google sports display does a good job with this problem, and examples can be seen in that thread, but obviously their design isn't the end-all be-all.
