Mobile app: Assistant has gray empty bar at top of screen

Even the sidebar is shifted down with about the same amount the header is misaligned by.

The header issue is fixed for me, thanks!

But as Nahdahar pointed out here in the post before yours, the sidebar has the same problem of having some margin/padding on top of it, you can see it very well in the video he posted.

And btw, you could probably close this here too then

Hi all,

Thank you for your patience regarding this issue. A fix has been deployed that should make Assistant's header behave. The issue had to do with some WebView weirdness on certain devices that was duplicating safe area padding, causing it to misalign.

Please let me know if this is still occurring for anyone.

Gray empty bar on top when opening assistant in Kagi android app

Past 2 months. It should work like how other modes open in the app

There is also a pretty oversized empty space under the text input box at the bottom, and content flows under the bar at the top. Ends up looking really messy on some devices.

For some reason, using Assistant on my Pixel 10, there's a rectangular area of dead screen real estate directly above the Kagi logo (see attached screenshot, the area is bounded with green highlights). This isn't the case on the other Android phone I have, a six year old OnePlus 7T, but is on a Pixel 4a I have around for testing, so perhaps it's a Pixel thing?

iirc, it is a bug that has been asking for a while. in the mean time, I'd recommend checking the community kagi assistant app, which is day-night different with the official app. still waiting for the kagi team to provides a comparable assistant app to that
