This may be a recurrence of this bug:
https://kagifeedback.org/d/5749-desktop-kagi-assistant-pwa-opens-external-links-in-the-pwa-instead-of-the-default-browser
On MacOS, install the Kagi Assistant PWA from Safari by:
- Going to kagi.com/assistant
- Click the share icon, then click "add to dock", then click "add"
- Open a window in the PWA, which should load the Assistant.
Then, create a hypertext document in Apple Notes or another similar program. Paste this URL:
https://kagi.com/search?q=test+search
Then, click the link. See that the Assistant PWA window is transformed into a search results page.
Expected behavior: The query is opened in the user's default browser (Safari, in my case).
This Apple Note example is contrived for accessibility. I found it by triggering Kagi searches from Raycast.
The Quicklink https://kagi.com/search?q={Query} is my primary fallback command in Raycast, and as such is my primary "interface" with Kagi Search. I am hoping to start using the Kagi Assistant as a PWA, but these captured searches make it tough.
It's not necessarily a dealbreaker that my searches open in a different window, but rather that I need to navigate backwards to return to the Assistant each time.
(When fixing this, if possible, I'd love the PWA to retain the ability capture kagi.com/assistant?q={Query} links, so that they could similarly be activated from Raycast.)
