This problem is new, at most a few days since it started happening. On Brave desktop browser (perhaps others as well, I've only tried Brave) if you go to Maps it looks fine at first. But then as soon as you select any POI or search for and find one, it goes weird.
Specifically, any POI your mouse pointer moves over after the first is selected, automatically gets selected. So if you move your pointed across the screen over several POIs, it rapidly tried to load one after the other. If you move your mouse over the map to try to click any option on the info part on the left, if you mouse over any other POI, you lose the one you wanted.
Given this only started maybe a few days ago, it seems it must just be some new bug in the latest update.
Edit: Actually it's more broken than I noticed at first. Sometimes when you click a POI, instead of going to it, it just copies the name into search but doesn't open the POI itself.
