Image generation does not work with Research Assistant

I tried using the newly released Research Assistant and specifically prompted it to generate an image explanation. In the steps of its response, it has a clearly labeled section for "Generating image", but it fails to show the image in the response. Instead, it says it cannot generate images in the current environment. Expanding the section about "Generating image" also does not show the image.

I expect an image to appear inline in the response. If there are technical limitations to doing this with Assistant, I think they should be documented.

Hey,

There seems to be an edge case occurring in your thread. Once a response is planned, the system starts responding to the user. Usually, response planning is the final call, there shouldn't be any tools following Plan Response. However, in your case, the image generation request falls into the cracks and is not taken into account while generating the answer.

In this example, the image is generated but not included into the message because of a token generation error. I have seen a similar example previously. We are working on a solution.
