Word of mouth is a free but often effective way of advertising. Ever heard of the "six degrees of separation" thing?
(Kagi it :p). Blocking us from buying gift cards is even cheaper than free advertising: you could be getting paid!

I sometimes show off on my phone and get asked if they can try it out. "nope, they make it annoyingly difficult to pay them. I'd get you a gift card, but I can't buy them even though I am already paying them".
Which sounds a bit dumb. To be fair.
