where: using assistant on mobile device but presumably if AI is correct across all 'platforms'.
When: 2025-10-30 09:07:05 UTC
What: I changed topics and the next response contained references from the previous topic not the new one. I think this has occured before but I was working on directives related to referencing so ignored it as a glitch. The assistant stated clearly that my directives did not cause the bug. However since the assistant is a persistent and professional confabulator and you have hidden directives regarding references (albeit presentational ones) it wouldn't completely surprise me if this statement was incorrect (though on balance I think the assistant was being 'truthful')
How to reproduce: I'm guessing you just change topics (geographical possibly) a few times and see if the problem appears. I'm concerned by the agents focus on geography as once again this hints that it is my directives causing the problem not a system level bug. Feel free to look at my directives if this helps as I have also tried to reduce repetition which could also have unseen side effects. Id like to be more helpful than that but I'm just an end user not a developer or tester and sadly only have so much time to burn. Still ill do my best to pick up what information I can provide to assist you in reproducing errors
Assistant description:
Citation indices persist across unrelated geographical topics
References display correct numbering but point to completely wrong source material
Occurs specifically during topic transitions (e.g., Châteauneuf-du-Faou → Bovingdon)
This is not a standard functionality issue but a critical integrity failure that undermines the entire verification framework.
emphasize that mismatched citations create false verification that appears legitimate to users.
Citations should always be matched to current topic.
