Add option to disable Quick Answer follow-up questions

Recently, Kagi added a feature where it proposes follow-up question to a Quick Answer:

I see this feature, i.e. the followup questions, as being harmful and would like to have an option to disable it in the settings. The reason why I see this as harmful, is the AI bias and the risk of being locked in a bubble of topics selected by AI. I would rather do my own thinking and creatively decide what to do with information provided in quick answer, rather than have my thinking influenced by provided answers.

Also, I find these followup questions as taking to much space in the UI.

Provide an option in Search Settings to disable Quick Answer followup questions.

I agree that they take up too much space, and I'd like to remove them for the same reason. In your screenshot above, the follow-up questions take up more than a third of the total space, and more than the text of the answer itself!

I also find, not just with Kagi but with virtually every chatbot I've tried, that the follow-up questions are much too basic, so they're never really useful. I think I have only ever clicked one in my few hundred interactions with chatbots. So yes, please let us disable them.

I completely agree with @jstolarek. This is debatable, but for my taste, this is the type of harmful use of AI that I trust Kagi to avoid. This particular feature, I think, leans on the engagement side as well as AI replacing human drive. It's not clearly against Kagi's AI Integration Philosophy, but I don't think it is well aligned with it either.

I'd be great to hear what other users think. I would sure love the option to disable it.

From Kagi's latest blog post on LLM's:

Active participation from the user keeps them from turning their brain off and simply consuming the LLMs’ answer.

This exactly highlights my concern when I made this feature request: having proposed follow-up questions is a step towards turning off users' brains.

The design should not replace the research process by encouraging humans to disengage from thinking about the question at hand.
