Search UI mostly unusable on iOS 26

Seems to have started in the past few days. I am running the latest stable iOS 26. I have disabled all plugins and the issue continues. After the first search, when selecting the search box to do another the UI breaks in unusable ways. I have attached a video to explain.

Hi @mcg,

Thank you for reporting this. Some changes were made that directly affect the search bar when it's set to the bottom that results in this unexpected behavior. A fix is on the way, but as an immediate workaround, you should be able to search normally with it set to the top.

Using iOS 26.0.1, after performing a search, tapping on the search query to change the text pushes the search box down and I have to scroll to see it while typing. It also covers the search results with a solid box.

I have tried with all safari extensions disabled, and with content blockers turned off.

The search bar should be visible so I can see what I’m typing.
