  • Having a setting somewhere that lets us set our default preferred units would be great!

  • SuggestionsDone

Steps to reproduce:
Search for "weather 75202" (Dallas, TX).

It shows "feels like 25 degrees" (celsius). I click to convert it to F, and it correctly shows 77 degrees.

Perform some other searches. Then do another weather search, it again defaults to celsius.

Expected behavior:
Dallas, TX is located within the US, which uses Fahrenheit.

Ideally, the weather report should show temperatures in the scale that is local to the area. If within the US, it should default to Fahrenheit.

The thing is, OK the first time I perform the search, it's moderately inconvenient to switch the format to Fahrenheit, but that isn't remembered. Meaning, that all future searches still default to celsius.

Maybe introduce an account setting for the preferred temperature "scale"?

It's me, back again with more griping about weather forecasts. Haha. This is just a nice-to-have.

    Show me Fahrenheit by default!

Related addendum: show me 12-hour time by default too.

➕1 on this issue please, though I'll disagree on a minor point with @HeartleafGames, I think the temperature indicator should use the user's declared Country/Region from the settings page:

I'm in the USA, but if I'm curious about the temperature in Australia I would still like to see it measured in F instead of C.

Agree on this issue. But I'm not sure if I want it to be based on my country or just a toggle preference in my settings. I know many people in the US that think in Celsius.

I agree with the core issue - selecting F shouldn't be required every time.

If I've never selected a preferred unit, I'm fine with Kagi picking a default however it pleases. I'd just like the option to specify my preferred units (imperial versus metric) and time format (12 or 24 hour) and have those preferences considered whenever practical.

Is this on the roadmap to get fixed? Pretty inconvenient as a US user.

+1 on this. I'm enjoying the experience so far but this is the first thing that stuck out to me as annoying.

What is the easiest way for us to fix this that will work for you?

The default behavior should also probably be to use the overall accepted unit from the region the user is from.

Every time I search 'weather (zipcode)' the weather is shown in Celsius and I have to toggle to Fahrenheit (my country's local unit of measurement).

It would be very helpful if Kagi remembered your unit of measurement preference between searches.

This is the behavior on google.com.

Ideally it'd be an account setting. (Does Kagi show scientific units for queries other than the weather?)
