I really like this suggestion, as the results could be vastly superior when searching things outside of English speaking areas.
From a UI perspective, I think it could work two ways. The seemless way would be simply to make it so when you do a search in any language, if you ask about something from another country/language, it will also search in that language.
Like let's say I ask, "Give me a summary of modern Japanese history." Even a basic LLM could determine that it makes sense to search both in English and Japanese and then return the results in English.
A more custom option would be the ability to choose both the language you want answers in, AND the language/s you want searches to be done in, with maybe a limit of 2-3.
It would also be interesting if the model/s knew to compare the response language results with the foreign results. So for example it could include a note, "Interestingly Japanese language results primarily emphasize blah, but English results talk more about blah."
