No results, despite google giving results

Steps to reproduce:
Search for "cake-ification" "humankind":
https://kagi.com/search?q=%22cake-ification%22+%22humankind%22
Results in "We haven’t found anything."

The same search on google (https://www.google.com/search?q=%22cake-ification%22+%22humankind%22) gives one result (and 3 auto translated blog-spam copies)

Note that the one good result is only 2 hours old, so it’s possible whatever method you use to get their data simply doesn’t give those yet. Bing only has wrong results (ignoring phrase search).

CWagner In US I get exactly the one result:

It is possible that indexes for the APIs we use in your region (Google) simply don't have this result yet. But it is also a drawback of "International" setting that it is effectively asking our APIs to "give us results from any region". So, we are unfortunately at their mercy here, if they don't give us the result.

There's probably nothing we can do in this case, but I would be curious to hear if it crops up in 24hrs, or if you explicitly set the region to i.e. US.

Huh, interesting. Switching to US does indeed give that one result. A bit annoying as there is nothing US specific about the link. Though it’s weirdly lacking a screenshot/icon for me:

I refreshed the results page after seeing your comment, and there was no change. Now, after switching back from USA to Intl, the result suddenly appeared:

I’m thinking you might have simply gotten the result because it was in the API by the time you checked, while before it wasn’t yet.

Many more results showing for me, including this site now. Region-enabled searches are tricky to get right and we will have to work more on this.
