When searching in "news", there is no region selector, and it only searches for your globally selected region. Switching the global setting changes what news results are delivered.
At the very least, a region selector like for normal searches is required, optionally a new bang could be added (mirroring !reg for a normal regional search it could be !regn or !nreg)
