Please add a Europe region

In settings, I can currently select a region, and one of the regions is International. Please add a Europe or European Union region. The main use case is shopping and finding sellers that are inside the EU customs union. But also more generally, I desire for a region that's "English, but not American or British".

The user would set their region to Europe and use the search engine as normal and would get mostly English results mostly from sites based in continental Europe.

I also try and shop within the EU as much as possible, so it'd also like to see this. Not sure how achievable this would be on a technical level, but yeah.
Also I can imagine some people wanting to get only "European Economic Area (EEA)" results. Because including for example the UK might introduce more shipping/import costs.

A step even further would be: EU (cross-language) search. Cause there's various sites that aren't in english but do have the product you want.

I believe there was a similar ask about this for a combined region, and it's not as straightforward as it may seem. Maybe @z64 can add some clarification on this?

The search APIs we use do not support specifying "EU" as a whole. What you see in our region picker is what we get to choose from on our end, which is down to country/regional granularity; there is no in-between.

This would require either our own full scale indexes in order to provide this ourselves, or getting every (or at least 2) source we use to agree to adding support for this for our use case. So in terms of this happening as-described in the near term are slim to none.

The best recommendation we can make is to make domain ranking adjustments and create lenses for specific use cases (e.g. EU shopping) that filters on domains or TLDs to coax relevant results from our upstream indexes.
