Hi I really like the new Kagi news app and the AI summaries it provides, but I wish there was a way to create custom categories to follow topics I'm interested in. I think the default categories are a good start, but I want the ability to create these ai summaries for more specific/niche topics.
I imagine that when creating the category I would be able to name the topic I'm interested in, provide a prompt to change how the ai summary is written, choose which model writes the summary, choose what sections I want in the summary, and also the ability to block/raise/lower the news sources for creating the summaries.
An example would be maybe I like to keep up to date with cybersecurity news, but I want a custom category to specially create ai summaries for news about the creation of new ransomware or reports of companies that have been hit by ransomware. The current cybersecurity category is too broad to see any ransomware specific reporting.
The new chatgpt pulse app seems like it provides highly curated news to the user, but at the expense of the user's privacy. I could see kagi news as an alternative to get curated daily news without needing to exploit the user's personal data and conversation history.
Curated news would obviously use more tokens than the current default news format so maybe it could come out of the user's total ai cost per period.
