Translation won't trigger in search until I reload the page

A few months ago translation used to work just fine, but it kind of stopped working at some point. Trying to translate will only yield web results until I reload the exact same page (not equal to pressing the search button again), which is when it'll pop up

There seems to be more going on than this. I have very inconsistent triggers of this widget. Both when searching While on the website but also when searching via the url bar
