I'm calling this a bug, but I don't know whether this behavior is intended. If so, I think it should at least be documented somewhere, and preferably even noted in the UI of the extension itself.
But using Edge on Windows 11, the Privacy Pass extension will randomly get disabled. Not run out of tokens, but the icon turns gray and I have to check "Authenticate via Privacy Pass" again.
I'd imagine this would stay enabled until I disabled it. If this is intended behavior (like you envision Privacy Pass to function only temporary for 'private searches' or something), it should at least be documented (or even better, perhaps a duration toggle added).
