Kagi News app / kite should (by default) show news from all categories in a single view without category tabs.

I want to open this digital newspaper daily, swipe through to the end, and be done.

Scrolling in two directions feels counter to the app’s motto: prevent mindless scrolling. Also, many of the sections are redundant, such as world+countries, tech+ai, and business+economy.

For me I am already not that into using news but without having a single page without having to click tabs there is no chance I would use it. Trying to get myself off toxic sites by using it instead but yeah, not with tabs.

Excited for the iOS integration.

Is the “mixed” option just interlaced/zippered? If so, I would suggest cross-category prioritization as part of this feature request.

For example, if there are 5 science stories on curing cancer, I think they should all be prioritized over whomever Trump is shaking hands with that day.

Additionally it would be smart to have a separate number of articles selector/slider for the unified category view. For example, say I’m interested in World and Apple. Currently I will get 24 news stories, 12 World, 12 Apple. Realistically, most people don’t need 12 Apple stories a day.

Ideas for more sane configuration:

(Preferred) Cap my articles at a new global limit, defined by me, and have cross-category prioritization decide which articles should bubble up.
Select article cap per category. Flexible, but would cause configuration fatigue for the vast majority of users. This could work if Kagi News reduces the number of categories.
