Search for 'Malta' without explicit region returns no results

A search for "Malta" without additional configuration... returns no results.

Explicitly selecting "International" as the search region returns results, as does switching the region back to my default ("Canada (EN)"), but when I clear filters again, it's back to "no results".

This is true, whether triggered from the kagi.com homepage, or directly via browser search (i.e. https://kagi.com/search?q=malta) on desktop and mobile. No lenses, or any other filters, are enabled.

Malta is still recognised as a country in the search suggestions, which I'm sure they'll be pleased to hear.

I have not noticed any issues searching for other countries.

I'd expect Malta to exist.

Hi, are you able to consistently reproduce this? We have an occasional transient "no results" issue that should go away on refresh.

tux0r Yes, there's a thread on it over at #3387. It can happen due to any number of factors with our upstream such as timeouts or errors from them.
