Show date of satellite image source in map

It is useful to have an idea how current (or not current) a satellite image of a place is. Let's say you plan to visit the area. Right now no date is shown.

For example Kia Kaha Drv, Snells Beach, New Zealand. The satellite image is from after mid 2017 but before autumn 2018 (verified with Google Earth).

Either a date in the (i)-toolbox - where now all the copyright names are - seems appropriate or even better next to the scale, always visiable.

I don't see any change for existing workflows.

A user can now know the date of the satellite image.

I see, thanks for looking into it.

A bit odd running a service that answers every question on the planet (correctly or not) but no having an idea what map data you are presenting to the customers.

I'm gonna email mapbox cause surely there is a way. but yeah, it's a bit complex either way cause they compile various different providers into just one 'aerial' layer https://docs.mapbox.com/help/dive-deeper/imagery/

Thibaultmol thank you for the link regarding mapbox. I see they get the data indeed from lots of different sources.

I did assume that for a lot of use-cases the date/age of the areal/satellite images do matter if one does check them.
