Links fail to open in new tab

What happened: Clicking on search result links result in the link being opened in the same tab as the search results.
How did it happen: unknown, observed behavior after noticing that links were failing to open in a new tab, checked the state of Settings -> General -> Open Links In New Tab. Was surprised to find that this setting was checked. Re-toggled the setting, unfortunately there was no change in behavior; links continued to be opened in the same tab as the search results. Currently running Orion
Version 0.99.135.0.1-beta (WebKit 622.1.15.19.2)
Build date July 30, 2025
MacBook Pro (macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 build 24G90) if that helps.

Expected that links would open in a new tab, as the value of the setting dictates.

Looks like there is something odd going on with the settings being applied. I was able to enable the Open links in new tab setting through the following steps

Go to https://kagi.com/settings/general
Enable Open Links in a New Tab
Refresh the page
The setting goes back to off
Enable it again
Refresh the page
It stays enabled, and links correctly open in news tabs.

laiz Oddly, a day or two after originally reporting this bug, links suddenly started opening in a new tab once more. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try if this breaks again.
