papetoast Searching "G@" or "dummy query G@" will be rewritten to "site:google.com" / "dummy query site:google.com". There are no documentation about this behavior, so I assume it is a bug. Try it: https://kagi.com/search?q=dummy+query+G%40 In settings Search Snaps Allow use of search snaps. For example, '@r' will expand to 'site:reddit.com' Documentation: https://help.kagi.com/kagi/features/snaps.html No rewriting should happen.
papetoast Btw can I use this chance to complain that the bug report form is very stupid. You guys asked two required questions and then my answer is concatenated. It always make my answer to the second question "What did you expect to happen? Describe the desired functionality." appear completely out of context. I have manually edited it out every time.
z64 Not a bug really, snaps are intentionally parsed with the same code that parses bangs, we just check if @ was used instead of !. https://help.kagi.com/kagi/features/bangs.html#supported-bang-syntaxes We can narrow the parsing specifically for snaps if there is consensus that this is not desireable, otherwise we can update the docs to suit.
papetoast Ah, I didn't even know bangs can work that way. It is a bit confusing when it happened to me unintentionally, but it makes sense.
