It would extend the existing color picker by triggering when a valid hex value is searched. This makes it faster to jump from looking up a color to adjusting or copying it, without extra clicks or steps.
When searching for a RRGGBB or RRGGBBAA valid hexidecimal, trigger the color picker with this value picked. RGB could be nice but overlaps with too many 3 letter words and abbreviations so probably too aggressive.
