Sorting by recency does not put the most recent results on top

When sorting by recency in this search:

The most recent post is from 2018. Which seems a bit odd, so I filtered by month:

Turns out there are more recent posts, they're just not shown on top when sorting by recency

It's doing the same on my pc at home now as it did on my pc at work

It gets weirder:

I used the "share this search" button to get this link:
https://kagi.com/search?q=site%3Areuters.com+ad+blockers+german&order=2&r=no_region

And here's the result for putting it into:

chrome guest profile
chromium (with my login, and the kagi extension)
firefox (it's empty, I don't use it, not sure why I've got it installed)

And all three give me a rather different result. I can't access it on chrome, chromium with my login gives incorrect results, firefox without logging in does it right.

Boomkop3 Very weird, across all my browsers and regions it orders them correctly. You're obviously having issues though so I'll see if the devs can figure it out 😅

I tested the same thing on my work pc, with the same shared search link.

From left to right" (and top bottom):

chrome, logged in, with te kagi extension: incorrect sorting
firefox, logged in, with the kagi extension: incorrect sorting
firefox, logged out, no kagi extension (private tab), no results
microsoft edge, logged out, no kagi extension: no results
microsoft edge, logged in, no kagi extension: incorrect sorting

This issue appears to be consistent between my browsers and pc's. Perhaps it's something in my account?

I'm having issues with this too. Here's an example:

1) I search "mcclim", which I know has a recent article written about it.
2) These results show: https://kagi.com/search?q=mcclim+&order=2&r=us&sh=PCNCETNO32pHi2Ac5QoHyw
3) The article from 2026 is the 12th result, underneath entries from past years:

I have this issue in general, not just with the above search. I've noticed it in videos too, there will be a video several years old that gets pushed to the top above more recent ones.

Region: United States
Language: Was set to "Detect Language", have now set it to English but it didn't help.
Browser: Firefox
