The news homepage at kagi.com/news is intentionally updated once a day. This is a feature, but is not visible on the news homepage, which may cause user confusion when compared to other news aggregation tools.
Particularly when reporting on fast-moving stories, the news may be out-dated - by design - but there is nothing to clarify what's going on for a user who visits that the page is designed as a daily précis of events, not an up-to-the-minute news briefing.
My suggestion is to add a "next updated at..." relative time expressed in hours, and wording to make the update time clear.
This selection is updated daily: no stress. Expect the next update in around four hours.
By making it a "next update" it looks forward, not back. By expressing the time in "around four hours" rather than an actual time, it highlights the relaxed, daily nature of this tool.
On a technical level, this is also cacheable by using Javascript to calculate the time difference between the next expected update; and avoids timezone issues which can be complex.
