Bring back "stars" to delineate saved vs. temporary assistant threads

With the latest assistant update, the ability to "star" threads when in 24-hr mode was removed. This was a simple way to save an assistant thread via both mobile and on desktop (since it was easily clickable/tappable). Please bring this back (or offer something similar). Tags in general seem great, but no need to eliminate the stars.

User would use it the same way they did before removal-- tapping or clicking the star to "save" the thread (or remove it from being saved)

I second this! It is annoying to not see at a glance which if my temporary threads are going to disappear tomorrow, without clicking on each of them AND clicking on the # thing to see if it is marked as temporary. Please bring back the stars on the left nav.

seeing as it's now tag based. maybe being able to assign emoji's to labels could help with this?

Thibaultmol To go along with this, just having the star as a tag (be it a star or "Saved"/"Preserved"/..) with a button to assign it in the UI might be a nice solution that preserves the feature of quickly marking threads without adding a second dynamic besides the tags.
The default "Temporary" tag seems to already do this for the default behavior.

I much prefer the stars (I created an account just to post a reply) for visibility as I have ADHD and visibility is everything for me.

Agree that a visual indicator to demonstrate that a thread is saved/temporary would be very useful. I've had an instance where I lost several threads because I did something wrong, but a visual indicator showing that these threads were going to be deleted would have prompted me to double check.

I would love a small icon to be displayed next to the name of temporary chats, and when I hover, it shows something like "will vanish in ₂ hours"

I think the key problem is that the effect of whether a thread is temporary or not is significant (thread disappears after 24h by default) whereas in other cases, it's just a different label/tag. However visually there is no distinction between these two cases. Something like this should be quickly apparent when one glances at the list as people could lose a lot of work or data unintentionally. Whether it is by adding the 'stars' back or some other way, if upon a cursory inspection it is clear to the user which threads might disappear shortly and which will remain (while also being able to easily move threads from one category to another), I imagine there would be fewer complaints or requests related to this.
