Copying from Microsoft word to Kagi Assistant

When I copy and paste text from Microsoft Word on Mac into Kagi Assistant, Assistant creates an image of the text rather than inserting the text itself into the prompt window. Although the image is still processed, I imagine it’s more computationally complex, and for me is annoying.

I've yet to test this on Windows.

Attached is a video showing the issue, and how Assistant normally handles copy and pasting.

Instead of creating an image with the text, paste the text into the Assistant message window normally.

I knew this bug sounded familiar so I did some digging; turns out this is a known issue with Word on Mac. For whatever reason it seems like it often copies text as an image/object instead of plaintext. Luckily if you "paste as plain text" (cmd+shift+v), it will indeed work properly. Closing this as nofix as I don't believe there's anything we can do here.

Actually looking a bit further, from what I can tell Word copies a couple different things to the clipboard (images of the text being one of them), and images are "better" so are chosen when pasting. Unsure if we can change that behavior, I'll escalate.

Vage

The same thing happens with OneNote (have not tested it with the one from the Microsoft Store) on Windows, but you can still paste plain text using Ctrl+Shift+V.
