The newly-released News Homepage does not currently display the date and/or time associated with the aggregated headlines. Even if it's a bit redundant, I find it useful to see the date/time next to a particular headline so that I can quickly judge if it's a breaking story or if it's an event I'm already familiar with. At the moment, the news page doesn't display any information that provides a contextual time frame for the information being presented so it's ambiguous if a story is brand new or several hours old.
The changelog mentioned that the news homepage is going to be updated once a day. If that's the case, then even having a heading somewhere that says "Latest News as of..." or "Updated At..." would be helpful just to understand when the results were last refreshed.
When browsing headlines and topics on the news homepage, users will be able to tell, at a glance, how old a particular news item is or when the news page was last refreshed.
