I'm merely another user of Kagi's services and in no way affiliated with them. However, I glance at these forums often and I felt that I should say what comes to my mind to spark a conversation about it and to see where it goes from there.
I understand that we (the users) pay for the service and naturally feel that some expectations ought to be met. However, I feel that sometimes the messages or topics I see on this forum come off as a bit too "aggressive" in their "demands". Pardon the way I phrase it for English is not my native tongue and this is the best I could come up with.
I understand people being frustrated with a bug and expressing that but at times, I see messages which boil down to this "Do X" or "You must do Y" or something like that.
(Or the opposite: "Don't do X", "You must stop Y" etc.)
Consider that there are people at the other side of this equation and they are working hard against behemoths who have sunk their claws into the public's data and their affairs since well over a decade if not multiple decades. So, I'd urge someone who feels inclined to write a terse or harsh demand to them to consider how they may come across in the end.
Ultimately, each of us is just one of many users. Just being able to affect change in the product and have oneself credited for it is remarkable. Could you imagine your own name appearing in the changelist of any other major well known search engine? We don't even get changelists from the rival services.
So, we have it quite good already. I don't say that everything is perfect but all I ask is to consider being courteous and considerate towards the folk who went so far as to even give us this forum to be able to influence their work.
