Configurable Chain/Brand Filter in Maps

To add onto the “Local POIs Only” feature, can the list of chains can be adjusted?

There are some that are genuinely good despite being a massive business. REI is one example of being a great sporting goods store that many local ones just can’t compete with.

Brands either raised or lowered in priority like websites in the normal search or just adding a black/whitelist to adjust what shows in maps search.

If you don’t want to present the user with a big list of sites/stores like the web search currently can for raising/lowering site rankings then manually clicking “add to blocklist” next to each business that pops up in a search is one way to do it. Depends if the user is going to be given a filtered list from the start.
